Marvel sells 14- and 15-inch ice machines for the home in Classic, Professional, Low Profile and Outdoor versions, making clear cubes, crescent ice or nugget ice. A Marvel visit is to a built-in machine under a counter, often in a basement bar or an outdoor kitchen where it runs alongside other Marvel undercounter units. We service Marvel Classic, Professional, Low Profile and Outdoor clear ice machines with a gravity drain or pump, the crescent ice makers and the nugget ice machines. The clear models use a word display, the nugget models use three lamps, so the model family decides how a problem is read. ### Words that flash instead of codes The Classic clear ice machines report trouble by flashing a word on the display: OFF for a failed bin sensor, ICE for a failed condenser sensor, and every indicator at once for a lost link between the boards. Knowing which word is flashing tells us which sensor or harness to bring. ### An ECO mode that slows production Marvel's ECO setting trims ice output to save roughly a quarter of the energy and nearly a third of the water. A machine left in ECO with an empty bin looks like a slow machine, so we check the mode before measuring output. ### A grid cutter that breaks if forced The clear ice slab drops onto a wire grid that cuts it into cubes, and Marvel warns that pushing ice through the grid will break the wires. A slab stuck on the grid is left to melt, and broken wires are a parts order. ### Crescent models without a drain Marvel lists its crescent ice makers as models that do not need a drain, while the clear and nugget machines come with a gravity drain or a pump. Where a machine is installed matters as much as what failed. Parts Marvel ice machine parts and its nickel-safe clear ice cleaner are ordered using the model, serial and service numbers on the cabinet plate; the service number pins down the exact build. Repair or replace Sensors, the water valve, the pump and the grid cutter are straightforward repairs on a Marvel that still freezes well. A sealed-system failure on an older outdoor unit is where comparing repair with a new machine becomes worthwhile. Book your Marvel visit ## What we are called out for. What does that mean? On the clear ice models a flashing OFF, without a tone, means the bin sensor has failed and the machine has stopped itself. The sensor has to be replaced, so book a visit. ### Why is my Marvel making ice so slowly? First check whether ECO mode is lit, since it deliberately slows production. If the machine is in normal mode, a dirty condenser, scale on the evaporator plate or low water supply are the usual causes. ### How often should I clean a Marvel clear ice machine? Marvel shows a CLEAN reminder every six months and recommends a cleaning on the same schedule, with a nickel-safe cleaner. Hard water or heavy use can call for more frequent cleaning. ### Do Marvel nugget and clear ice machines show the same signals? No. The clear models flash words on a display, while the nugget models use three lamps, ICE, NO WATER and DRAIN, that blink in different combinations. --- **[Read on the site: Marvel Ice Machine Repair | IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/brands/marvel/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
