Nugget ice is pushed out of a freezing cylinder by an auger that a gear motor turns. If the motor stops or cannot turn, the board shows E03. Blue Air lists a motor that is not working and ice that has frozen solid inside the cylinder. Blue Air ice machine display · also shown as Water button blinks once a second What to do when E03 shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Harvest and freeze cycle A freeze ran longer than the board allows, or a harvest started and the ice never fell. Scale on the evaporator holds the sheet to the plate, a thickness probe crusted with minerals never signals, a hot gas valve that does not open leaves the plate cold, a harvest assist that does not push, or a water curtain that swings without tripping its switch all end in this family. A cleaning cycle run by the manual often clears it; a valve or a probe is a technician's job. ### Usually leads to Ice machine harvest repair The hot gas valve, harvest assist, curtain switch and thickness probe that decide when a sheet of cubes is done and make it drop. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Blue Air Blue Air ice machine calls start by reading the controls and looking at the evaporator for scale that slows the freeze. ### Source Blue Air BLDN-280A countertop ice and water dispenser manual BLDN-280A countertop nugget ice and water dispenser. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Blue Air's own guidance for E03 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Switch the dispenser off and leave it off for an hour so ice in the cylinder can soften. 02 Check the water supply is open, since a cylinder short of water can freeze up. 03 Switch it back on and see whether ice comes out. 04 If E03 returns, book a visit; do not try to free the auger yourself. ### Still there? Switch the dispenser off and leave it off for an hour so ice in the cylinder can soften. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why would ice freeze inside the cylinder of my Blue Air dispenser? Not enough water reaching the cylinder is the usual reason, which is why the water supply is checked along with the motor. ### My Blue Air dispenser groaned before E03 appeared. Is that related? Probably. A motor straining against ice or a worn gear often makes noise before the board stops it. ### Is a gear motor repair worth it on a Blue Air nugget dispenser? Usually, yes. The gear motor is a normal wear part on nugget machines, and replacing it is a routine repair. --- **[Read on the site: Blue Air E03: the gear motor of the nugget ice dispenser stopped](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/blue-air-e03/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
