When a Follett bin or dispenser fills, the bin switch turns production off and the board starts a timed rest; the condenser fan runs a little longer to cool down. Once the delay ends and the LOW BIN light is back on, the machine restarts. On Champion dispensers the rest lasts 15 or 30 minutes and a long idle turns into Sleep Mode. Follett ice machine display · also shown as Time Delay What to do when TIME DELAY shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Nothing is broken; the control is reporting a state someone chose or a routine it runs: a clean or sanitize reminder counting the hours since the last cycle, a delay of a few minutes after power returns before the pump and compressor start, a bin-full light while the bin control is satisfied, or a standby or off mode someone chose at the keypad. No part is needed; finishing the cycle the light asks for, waiting out the delay or the key sequence from the manual ends it. ### Usually leads to No repair Look at the bin or dispenser hopper; if it is full, nothing needs doing. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Follett A Follett visit weighs how chewable ice is made and moved to the bin or the dispenser before looking at any single part. ### Source Follett Horizon Elite D710A installation, operation and service manual All Horizon Elite and Maestro Plus heads; Champion 7 and 15 dispensers show Time Delay and Sleep Mode on the help screen. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Follett's own guidance for TIME DELAY on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Look at the bin or dispenser hopper; if it is full, nothing needs doing. 02 If the bin is low and TIME DELAY stays on, check that the ice transport tube is seated in its coupling and not kinked. 03 If TIME DELAY lights together with HI AMPS, LO WATER or HI PRESSURE, look up that code instead. 04 If the bin is low and the tube looks right, book a visit to check the bin switch and shuttle. ### Cleared? The light or code is gone, and the machine fills, freezes and drops a full batch of cubes into the bin with no new part. If it returns within a week, or the clean light comes back straight after a cleaning cycle, mention that in the booking. ### What not to do TIME DELAY alone is normal operation. It becomes a problem only when it appears with a low bin, which Follett traces to a jammed tube, a stuck shuttle or a bin thermostat. ## What you may notice with it. Look at the bin or dispenser hopper; if it is full, nothing needs doing. ### How long does a Follett stay in TIME DELAY? Until its delay ends and the bin switch reads a low bin again. On Champion dispensers the delay is set to 15 or 30 minutes. ### My Follett is in TIME DELAY but the bin is almost empty. Why? The machine thinks the bin is full. Ice jammed in the transport tube, a tube that has backed out of its coupling or a stuck shuttle are the usual reasons. ### My Champion dispenser says Sleep Mode. Is it off? It is resting because nobody used it during the delay. Dispensing for a short while wakes it up. --- **[Read on the site: Follett TIME DELAY: the ice machine is resting after the bin filled](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/follett-time-delay/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
