During the freeze, the pump carries sump water over the evaporator and the level drops, which should close the high float switch. If it does not, the board shows Error 7. A float stuck with scale or slime, a pump that is not moving water, or an overfilling inlet valve are the likely causes. Ice-O-Matic ice machine display What to do when Error 7 shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Water supply The water side came up short: the trough did not fill in the time allowed, the float or level probe never saw water, or water kept flowing when the inlet valve should have closed. A supply valve left partly shut, a clogged filter cartridge, low building pressure or a sticking inlet valve are the usual causes. Opening the valve fully and fitting a fresh filter clears the simple cases; a valve that hums without passing water is a visit. ### Usually leads to Ice machine water valve and filter repair The inlet valve, filter, sump float or level probe and supply line, tested and replaced when water arrives short, dirty or nonstop. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Ice-O-Matic Ice-O-Matic machines get a visit that starts at the water inlet and the distribution tube, where scale often shows up first. ### Source Ice-O-Matic Elevation Series CIM modular cuber technical service manual (5/11/26) Elevation Series CIM modular cubers. Codes show as red and yellow flash patterns on the POWER and CLEAN buttons of the push pad and the board. Boards before serial 2106 grouped some limits differently. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Ice-O-Matic's own guidance for Error 7 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Switch the unit off and look at the float in the sump: it should move freely. 02 Plan a cleaning if the float or sump is coated, using the cleaner Ice-O-Matic specifies. 03 Clear the code with POWER and CLEAN held for three seconds; if Error 7 returns, book a visit. ### Still there? Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do Error 7 is not a slow fill, which is Error 3. It does not mean the unit is leaking, though an overfilling sump can overflow into the bin drain. ## What you may notice with it. The ice machine problems Error 7 tends to arrive with. Switch the unit off and look at the float in the sump: it should move freely. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can slime cause Error 7 on an Ice-O-Matic? Yes. A float coated with slime or scale sticks, and the board reads it as a water level problem. ### My Ice-O-Matic pump hums but water does not flow. Could that be Error 7? Yes. If the pump is not moving water, the sump level never drops and the float never closes. ### Does cleaning always fix Error 7 on an Ice-O-Matic? When the float is simply stuck, cleaning often does. A float switch or pump that has failed needs a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Ice-O-Matic Error 7: triple red and yellow flashes, float did not close](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/ice-o-matic-error-7/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
