When a CIM shuts off because the bin is full, or because the bin thermostat opened for 90 seconds, it waits three minutes before it will restart. That protects the compressor from starting too soon after stopping. The display shows a slow blue flash during that time. Ice-O-Matic ice machine display What to do when Slow blue flash shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Nothing is broken; the control is reporting a state someone chose or a routine it runs: a clean or sanitize reminder counting the hours since the last cycle, a delay of a few minutes after power returns before the pump and compressor start, a bin-full light while the bin control is satisfied, or a standby or off mode someone chose at the keypad. No part is needed; finishing the cycle the light asks for, waiting out the delay or the key sequence from the manual ends it. ### Usually leads to No repair Wait at least three minutes; the unit restarts on its own if ice is needed. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Ice-O-Matic Ice-O-Matic machines get a visit that starts at the water inlet and the distribution tube, where scale often shows up first. ### Source Ice-O-Matic Elevation Series CIM modular cuber technical service manual (5/11/26) Elevation Series CIM modular cubers. Codes show as red and yellow flash patterns on the POWER and CLEAN buttons of the push pad and the board. Boards before serial 2106 grouped some limits differently. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Ice-O-Matic's own guidance for Slow blue flash on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Wait at least three minutes; the unit restarts on its own if ice is needed. 02 If the flashing continues much longer, check whether ice is holding the curtain open. 03 If the unit never restarts with an empty bin, book a visit for the curtain switches or bin thermostat. ### Cleared? The light or code is gone, and the machine fills, freezes and drops a full batch of cubes into the bin with no new part. If it returns within a week, or the clean light comes back straight after a cleaning cycle, mention that in the booking. ### What not to do The slow blue flash is not an error code and needs no reset. It is also not Error 2, which is a slow flash on POWER while the unit is off. ## What you may notice with it. The ice machine problems Slow blue flash tends to arrive with. Wait at least three minutes; the unit restarts on its own if ice is needed. ### Why does my Ice-O-Matic flash blue slowly after filling the bin? It is waiting out a three-minute restart delay that protects the compressor. ### Do I need to reset my Ice-O-Matic after a slow blue flash? No. It restarts by itself once the delay is over and the bin calls for ice. ### Can a bin thermostat cause the slow blue flash on an Ice-O-Matic? Yes. If the bin thermostat stays open for 90 seconds, the unit stops and shows the same delay. --- **[Read on the site: Ice-O-Matic slow blue flash: three-minute restart delay](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/ice-o-matic-slow-blue-flash/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
