--- title: "KitchenAid Max Ice light: faster ice for 24 hours" description: "What Max Ice means on KitchenAid Max Ice light: faster ice for 24 hourss, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/kitchenaid-max-ice/" --- # KitchenAid Max Ice light: faster ice for 24 hours Max Ice raises production for a day when the bin is low and a crowd is coming. ## What Max Ice actually means. Max Ice raises production for a day when the bin is low and a crowd is coming. KitchenAid turns it on automatically when the machine is first powered and switches it off after 24 hours; pressing Max Ice again ends it early. KitchenAid ice machine display · also shown as Max Ice light, MAX ICE What to do when Max Ice shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Nothing is broken; the control is reporting a state someone chose or a routine it runs: a clean or sanitize reminder counting the hours since the last cycle, a delay of a few minutes after power returns before the pump and compressor start, a bin-full light while the bin control is satisfied, or a standby or off mode someone chose at the keypad. No part is needed; finishing the cycle the light asks for, waiting out the delay or the key sequence from the manual ends it. ### Usually leads to No repair Leave it on if you need ice quickly; it ends by itself after 24 hours. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make KitchenAid In a home with a KitchenAid ice machine under the counter, the visit covers the drain path and the water line as closely as the cabinet itself. ### Source KitchenAid ice maker User Guide W11246207A (Wayback copy) KitchenAid clear-ice machines under User Guide W11246207A; Whirlpool's equivalent is called Fast Ice. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from KitchenAid's own guidance for Max Ice on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Leave it on if you need ice quickly; it ends by itself after 24 hours. 02 Press Max Ice to turn it off sooner. 03 If the indicator will not respond to the button, turn the machine off and on once, and book a visit if it still ignores the button. ### Cleared? The light or code is gone, and the machine fills, freezes and drops a full batch of cubes into the bin with no new part. If it returns within a week, or the clean light comes back straight after a cleaning cycle, mention that in the booking. ### What not to do Max Ice is not a warning and has nothing to do with a problem. KitchenAid also notes that this mode itself changes the production rate, so ice output during the first day is not a fair test of the machine. ## What you may notice with it. Leave it on if you need ice quickly; it ends by itself after 24 hours. ### Why was the Max Ice light on when my KitchenAid ice machine was new? KitchenAid starts Max Ice automatically at first power-up to fill the bin, then turns it off after 24 hours. ### Should I run my KitchenAid ice machine on Max Ice all the time? It is meant for a day of heavy demand and switches itself off after 24 hours, so you would have to press it again each day. ### My KitchenAid made little ice on its first day even with Max Ice on. Is something wrong? Not yet. KitchenAid asks for 24 hours for the first batch and says to discard the first two batches, so judge output after the second day. --- **[Read on the site: KitchenAid Max Ice light: faster ice for 24 hours](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/kitchenaid-max-ice/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
