KitchenAid's filter status display has two stages. Order Filter comes first and simply says a replacement should be bought now; Replace Filter follows when the cartridge should actually be changed. KitchenAid ice machine display · also shown as Order Filter light What to do when Order Filter shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Water supply The water side came up short: the trough did not fill in the time allowed, the float or level probe never saw water, or water kept flowing when the inlet valve should have closed. A supply valve left partly shut, a clogged filter cartridge, low building pressure or a sticking inlet valve are the usual causes. Opening the valve fully and fitting a fresh filter clears the simple cases; a valve that hums without passing water is a visit. ### Usually leads to Ice machine water valve and filter repair The inlet valve, filter, sump float or level probe and supply line, tested and replaced when water arrives short, dirty or nonstop. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make KitchenAid In a home with a KitchenAid ice machine under the counter, the visit covers the drain path and the water line as closely as the cabinet itself. ### Source KitchenAid ice maker User Guide W11246207A (Wayback copy) KitchenAid clear-ice machines with a filter status display, per User Guide W11246207A. Some panels show only Replace Filter. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from KitchenAid's own guidance for Order Filter on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Order a filter that matches your model; KitchenAid names F2WC9I1 for current ice machines. 02 Keep using the machine as normal until the Replace Filter light comes on. 03 If output is already dropping, change the filter early, as KitchenAid advises. ### Still there? Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do Order Filter is not a water supply problem and does not slow the machine.
