Each time an Indigo head loses its supply, the control board stamps the event in the Event Log when power returns. It does not stop the machine and raises no alert on the home screen. A cluster of E03 lines points to a loose plug, a shared circuit, a breaker that trips, or utility dips. Manitowoc ice machine display What to do when E03 shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Control board and power The board lost track of itself or of its power: a voltage too low or too high at startup, a relay that no longer closes, a keypad or display that stays dark, or a memory error after a surge. Switching off at the machine's own switch for a minute clears a passing glitch. A code that returns, a breaker that trips, or any hot or burning smell means the power stays off and the board, the wiring and the relays are left to a technician. ### Usually leads to Ice machine control board repair The controller, its display, the sensors it reads and their wiring, tested when a code, a blinking light or a dead machine points there. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Manitowoc With a Manitowoc ice machine, the technician notes what the controls report and checks the bin control before opening the cycle for testing. ### Source Manitowoc Indigo Series air, water and remote condenser ice machines technician's handbook (Part Number 000014794) Listed in the Indigo Event Log table for E-board and G-board heads as a log-only entry with no alert on the display. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Manitowoc's own guidance for E03 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Note the times of the E03 entries and compare them with anything else that shut off in the building. 02 Check that the head has its own circuit and that the plug or disconnect is seated firmly. 03 If the breaker for the ice machine trips, leave it off and book a visit rather than resetting it again and again. ### Still there? It usually turns into [ice machine control board repair](https://icemachinerepair.center/services/ice-machine-control-board-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do E03 does not tell you the machine is broken; a single entry after a storm or a panel shutdown is normal. It is also not a low-voltage alarm, which Indigo boards do not report under this number. ## What you may notice with it. The ice machine problems E03 tends to arrive with. Note the times of the E03 entries and compare them with anything else that shut off in the building. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Does E03 on a Manitowoc mean I need a new control board? No. It only records that power went away. A board is suspected only when the head shows other entries or will not start after power is back. ### Why does my Manitowoc log E03 every night? Something is cutting its supply on a schedule, such as a timer, an energy-saving relay or equipment sharing the circuit. Tracing that circuit is an electrician's or technician's job. ### Should I clear E03 entries from the Manitowoc log? Leave them until someone reads them. The pattern of times helps whoever services the machine match the drops to a cause. --- **[Read on the site: Manitowoc E03: the ice machine lost power](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/manitowoc-e03/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
