--- title: "Marvel clear ice machine showing CLEAN: six-month cleaning reminder" description: "What CLEAN means on Marvel clear ice machines, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/marvel-clean/" --- # Marvel clear ice machine showing CLEAN Marvel's clear ice machines show CLEAN every six months because minerals build up on the cold evaporator plate and spoil the ice. ## What CLEAN actually means. Marvel's clear ice machines show CLEAN every six months because minerals build up on the cold evaporator plate and spoil the ice. Ice making continues while CLEAN shows, and a short press of ON/OFF clears it for another six months. CLEAN is also shown while the cleaning mode runs. Marvel ice machine display · also shown as CLEAN reminder What to do when CLEAN shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Nothing is broken; the control is reporting a state someone chose or a routine it runs: a clean or sanitize reminder counting the hours since the last cycle, a delay of a few minutes after power returns before the pump and compressor start, a bin-full light while the bin control is satisfied, or a standby or off mode someone chose at the keypad. No part is needed; finishing the cycle the light asks for, waiting out the delay or the key sequence from the manual ends it. ### Usually leads to No repair Order a nickel-safe ice machine cleaner approved by Marvel. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Marvel Marvel ice machine visits in a home start with the drain and the water supply, then move to the clear ice cycle. ### Source Marvel clear ice machine owner's guide (MACL215, MACP215, MLCL215, MLCP215, MOCL215, MOCP215, MP15CP) Marvel Classic, Low Profile and Outdoor 15-inch clear ice machines with the ICE, ECO, OFF, DOOR and CLEAN word display (MLCL215/MLCP215, MACL215/MACP215, MOCL215/MOCP215 and the earlier MA15C, ML15C, MO15C, MP15C). The Professional MPCP415 uses a different numeric control. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Marvel's own guidance for CLEAN on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Order a nickel-safe ice machine cleaner approved by Marvel. 02 Follow the guide: turn the machine off, empty the bin, drain the reservoir and let ice fall from the plate without forcing it through the grid cutter. 03 Run the cleaning mode from the options menu; if you only want to clear the reminder, tap ON/OFF. ### Cleared? The light or code is gone, and the machine fills, freezes and drops a full batch of cubes into the bin with no new part. If it returns within a week, or the clean light comes back straight after a cleaning cycle, mention that in the booking. ### What not to do CLEAN does not mean the machine has stopped or is failing; it keeps making ice. Clearing the reminder without cleaning just moves it on six months, so hard water can still cause cloudy or thin cubes before it returns. ## What you may notice with it.
