The nugget machine regularly empties its reservoir through a drain valve. If the lower level sensor still sees water two minutes after the valve opens, DRAIN blinks and Er16 is set. Marvel's checks are the drain valve, the level sensor and a clogged drain. Marvel ice machine display · also shown as DRAIN lamp blinking What to do when Er16 shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Drain and pump Water that should have left the machine is still inside it. A gravity drain clogged with slime or scale, a line run too flat to keep up during a harvest, a drain pump whose float sticks or whose motor has stopped, or an air gap blocked at the floor sink all back water into the bin or across the floor. Checking that the drain outlet in view runs clear is a fair first step; the pump and the line inside the cabinet are a visit. ### Usually leads to Ice machine drain and pump repair Gravity drains, air gaps, drain pumps and their lines, cleared or replaced when meltwater backs up into the bin or reaches the floor. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Marvel Marvel ice machine visits in a home start with the drain and the water supply, then move to the clear ice cycle. ### Source Marvel MRNP215 nugget ice machine owner's guide and service manual Marvel nugget ice machines MRNP215, MONP215 and MANP415, which report through ICE, NO WATER and DRAIN lamps. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Marvel's own guidance for Er16 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Check the drain hose behind the machine for kinks or a crushed section. 02 If the machine has a drain pump, make sure its discharge line is not blocked. 03 Book a visit if DRAIN still blinks; the valve and sensor need testing. ### Still there? It usually turns into [ice machine drain and pump repair](https://icemachinerepair.center/services/ice-machine-drain-and-pump-repair/). Check the drain hose behind the machine for kinks or a crushed section. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does my Marvel nugget machine drain so often? It flushes the reservoir on purpose to carry away minerals. Er16 only matters when that drain is slow. ### Can hard water cause Er16 on a Marvel? Scale can slow the drain valve and the reservoir outlet, which is one more reason to run the cleaning cycle when the lamps ask. ### Is water on the floor part of Er16? Not by itself. If water is spreading on the floor near an outlet, shut off the water and treat it as urgent. --- **[Read on the site: Marvel nugget ice machine blinking DRAIN (Er16): slow drain](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/marvel-er16/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
