When the CLEAN button is pressed during Water Fill, the LCD shows Cleaning, Add chemical and a 30-minute countdown. For the first minute Add chemical flashes, which is the moment to pour the ice machine cleaner solution into the water tank. After that the pump runs the cleaner through the system until the countdown reaches zero. Maxx Ice ice machine display · also shown as Cleaning What to do when Add chemical shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Nothing is broken; the control is reporting a state someone chose or a routine it runs: a clean or sanitize reminder counting the hours since the last cycle, a delay of a few minutes after power returns before the pump and compressor start, a bin-full light while the bin control is satisfied, or a standby or off mode someone chose at the keypad. No part is needed; finishing the cycle the light asks for, waiting out the delay or the key sequence from the manual ends it. ### Usually leads to No repair Mix and pour the ice machine cleaner exactly as its label and the Maxx Ice manual say, during that first minute. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Maxx Ice A Maxx Ice call opens with the location: room temperature, airflow around the unit and a drain that falls the way it should. ### Source Maxx Ice Intelligent Series modular MIM360N to MIM1000N manual Intelligent Series LCD models (MIM150N to MIM320N(H), MIM360N to MIM1000N(H)). Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Mix and pour the ice machine cleaner exactly as its label and the Maxx Ice manual say, during that first minute. 02 Wear gloves and eye protection when handling the cleaner, and never mix it with other cleaners. 03 Let the 30-minute cycle finish, then press ON/OFF twice to return to ice making. 04 Prefer not to handle the cleaner? Book a visit and we will run the cleaning. ### Cleared? The light or code is gone, and the machine fills, freezes and drops a full batch of cubes into the bin with no new part. If it returns within a week, or the clean light comes back straight after a cleaning cycle, mention that in the booking. ### What not to do Add chemical is not a warning that something is wrong with the water. It appears only because the CLEAN button started a cleaning cycle. ## What you may notice with it. The ice machine problems Add chemical tends to arrive with. Mix and pour the ice machine cleaner exactly as its label and the Maxx Ice manual say, during that first minute. ### I missed the Add chemical prompt on my Maxx Ice. What now? Stop the cycle with ON/OFF, then start it again from Water Fill so you get a fresh first minute to add the cleaner. ### Can I press CLEAN on my Maxx Ice while it is making ice? No. The manual says the CLEAN button has no effect during ice making, harvest or Bin Full, so turn the machine off and on and press it during Water Fill. ### How do I get my Maxx Ice back to making ice after cleaning? When the countdown reaches zero the machine waits in suspend mode. Press ON/OFF twice and the next ice cycle begins. --- **[Read on the site: Maxx Ice Add chemical: the ice machine is waiting for cleaner](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/maxx-ice-add-chemical/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
