These 15-inch units pump their melt water out through an internal drain pump. A second water level switch watches for water that the pump has not removed; when it closes, the board sounds the buzzer. The pump, the level switch or a kinked or blocked drain tube can be behind it, and water may already have overflowed. Maxx Ice ice machine display What to do when Buzzer alarm shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Drain and pump Water that should have left the machine is still inside it. A gravity drain clogged with slime or scale, a line run too flat to keep up during a harvest, a drain pump whose float sticks or whose motor has stopped, or an air gap blocked at the floor sink all back water into the bin or across the floor. Checking that the drain outlet in view runs clear is a fair first step; the pump and the line inside the cabinet are a visit. ### Usually leads to Ice machine drain and pump repair Gravity drains, air gaps, drain pumps and their lines, cleared or replaced when meltwater backs up into the bin or reaches the floor. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Maxx Ice A Maxx Ice call opens with the location: room temperature, airflow around the unit and a drain that falls the way it should. ### Source Maxx Ice MIM50 series 15-inch ice machine manual MIM50P and MIM50P-O (15-inch premium indoor and outdoor units with the standard internal drain pump). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Maxx Ice's own guidance for Buzzer alarm on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Turn off the ice machine and close its water supply valve; if water is near an outlet, switch the circuit off only from a dry panel. 02 Remove the ice from the bin and wipe up any water that has overflowed. 03 Check the drain tube for kinks without opening the machine. 04 Book a visit if the buzzer comes back; the pump and its power need testing. ### Still there? It usually turns into [ice machine drain and pump repair](https://icemachinerepair.center/services/ice-machine-drain-and-pump-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do The buzzer is not a reminder or a door alarm. Turn off the ice machine and close its water supply valve; if water is near an outlet, switch the circuit off only from a dry panel. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### My Maxx Ice MIM50P is beeping nonstop. What comes first? Turn it off and close the water supply, then empty the bin and dry any overflow. Maxx Ice gives exactly that order. ### Why would the drain pump in my Maxx Ice MIM50P stop working? The manual points to the pump not getting proper power, a kinked water line or drain tube, or the level switch itself. If the trough at the back holds no water, suspect the pump's power. ### Does every Maxx Ice have this buzzer? No. Only the MIM50P and MIM50P-O come with the internal pump and its alarm; other models drain by gravity. --- **[Read on the site: Maxx Ice buzzer alarm: the ice machine drain pump is not keeping up](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/maxx-ice-buzzer-alarm/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
