Holding the CLEAN button for six seconds during Water Fill or Cleaning starts the drain function on Intelligent Series machines. The LCD shows Purging Water while the pump empties the water tank, and the message disappears after three minutes. Maxx Ice ice machine display What to do when Purging Water shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Nothing is broken; the control is reporting a state someone chose or a routine it runs: a clean or sanitize reminder counting the hours since the last cycle, a delay of a few minutes after power returns before the pump and compressor start, a bin-full light while the bin control is satisfied, or a standby or off mode someone chose at the keypad. No part is needed; finishing the cycle the light asks for, waiting out the delay or the key sequence from the manual ends it. ### Usually leads to No repair Let the three minutes run; the drain stops on its own. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Maxx Ice A Maxx Ice call opens with the location: room temperature, airflow around the unit and a drain that falls the way it should. ### Source Maxx Ice Intelligent Series MIM150N to MIM320N(H) service and installation manual Intelligent Series LCD models. LED models show draining with their own light pattern. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Maxx Ice's own guidance for Purging Water on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Let the three minutes run; the drain stops on its own. 02 Make sure the drain line or floor drain is taking the water away. 03 If water backs up around the machine during the purge, switch it off, close the water supply and book a visit. ### Cleared? The light or code is gone, and the machine fills, freezes and drops a full batch of cubes into the bin with no new part. If it returns within a week, or the clean light comes back straight after a cleaning cycle, mention that in the booking. ### What not to do Purging Water is not a leak alarm and not a stuck drain valve. It is also separate from the automatic purges the machine makes every set number of cycles. ## What you may notice with it. The ice machine problems Purging Water tends to arrive with. Let the three minutes run; the drain stops on its own. ### My Maxx Ice says Purging Water and I did not press anything. Why? The display shows it after CLEAN has been held for six seconds, which can happen by accident while wiping the panel. It ends in three minutes. ### Can I change how often a Maxx Ice purges its water? Yes, on Intelligent Series machines the purge interval can be set from 0 to 20 cycles during Water Fill; the factory setting is 20. ### Should I purge my Maxx Ice before storing it? Yes. The manual has you drain the water before long storage or a move, so no water sits in the tank. --- **[Read on the site: Maxx Ice Purging Water: the ice machine is draining its water tank](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/maxx-ice-purging-water/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
