--- title: "True E14: the room around the ice machine is too hot" description: "What E14 means on True E14: the room around the ice machine is too hots, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/true-e14/" --- # True E14: the room around the ice machine is too hot True's T2 probe measures the air around the machine. ## What E14 actually means. True's T2 probe measures the air around the machine. E14 tells you it saw more than 130°F, which on a head in a closet, next to a fryer line or with its exhaust trapped means hot air is recirculating back into the condenser. True Residential ice machine display What to do when E14 shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Condenser and airflow The machine could not shed its heat. An air filter packed with lint, a condenser coil furred with grease and dust, a fan motor that no longer spins, a machine pushed into a hot corner without its clearance, a water-cooled condenser whose regulating valve starves it, or a remote condenser on a roof blocked by leaves all show up here. Washing the air filter and freeing the space around the machine clears many cases; a fan motor or a valve means a visit. ### Usually leads to Ice machine condenser and fan repair Air-cooled coils, fan motors and filters, water-cooled regulating valves and rooftop remote condensers, cleaned or repaired so the ice machine can shed its heat. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make True Residential True ice machine visits begin with the installation: the supply, the drain fall and the clearance the machine needs to cool. ### Source True Ice TCIM modular ice machine service manual (TEC_TM_198 Rev A) True Ice TCIM air-cooled modular heads (TCIM-422 to TCIM-830), touchscreen control; the code shows on the active alarm screen and stays in the alarm log. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from True Residential's own guidance for E14 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Feel the air at the condenser outlet and around the head; if the space is very hot, open it up or improve ventilation. 02 Check that the condenser fan is running during the freeze cycle. 03 If the room is normal and E14 persists, book a visit to have the probe tested. ### Still there? It usually turns into [ice machine condenser and fan repair](https://icemachinerepair.center/services/ice-machine-condenser-and-fan-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do E14 is a room-temperature alarm, not a failure in the sealed system itself. The opposite limit, below 33°F, is E15, and a probe that reads open or shorted shows as E2. ## What you may notice with it. The ice machine problems E14 tends to arrive with. Feel the air at the condenser outlet and around the head; if the space is very hot, open it up or improve ventilation. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Where is the T2 probe on a True ice machine? It reads ambient air near the condenser. If it sits in the path of exhaust from another appliance, it can read high even when the room feels normal. ### Can a True ice machine run in a hot kitchen? It can, as long as it gets enough cool air to its condenser. Heads pushed into tight corners or next to cooking equipment are the ones that raise E14. ### Does E14 stop ice production on my True? Treat it as a reason the machine is struggling. Fix the air around it first, then see whether production recovers. --- **[Read on the site: True E14: the room around the ice machine is too hot](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/true-e14/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
