Between cycles a True head purges part of the sump water to carry away minerals. E25 means the water did not leave fast enough, and True's checks are the drain valve coil, a clogged or unvented drain and a blocked sump drain. True Residential ice machine display What to do when E25 shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Drain and pump Water that should have left the machine is still inside it. A gravity drain clogged with slime or scale, a line run too flat to keep up during a harvest, a drain pump whose float sticks or whose motor has stopped, or an air gap blocked at the floor sink all back water into the bin or across the floor. Checking that the drain outlet in view runs clear is a fair first step; the pump and the line inside the cabinet are a visit. ### Usually leads to Ice machine drain and pump repair Gravity drains, air gaps, drain pumps and their lines, cleared or replaced when meltwater backs up into the bin or reaches the floor. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make True Residential True ice machine visits begin with the installation: the supply, the drain fall and the clearance the machine needs to cool. ### Source True Ice TCIM modular ice machine service manual (TEC_TM_198 Rev A) True Ice TCIM air-cooled modular heads (TCIM-422 to TCIM-830), touchscreen control; the code shows on the active alarm screen and stays in the alarm log. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from True Residential's own guidance for E25 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Check the drain line from the head for kinks, and the floor drain or air gap for backup. 02 Make sure the drain line is vented as installed. 03 Book a visit if the drain is clear; the drain valve coil needs a voltage check. ### Still there? It usually turns into [ice machine drain and pump repair](https://icemachinerepair.center/services/ice-machine-drain-and-pump-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do E25 is about water leaving the sump, not about the bin drain, which is a separate line. It is also not a fill problem; slow filling is E24 or E29. ## What you may notice with it. The ice machine problems E25 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the ice machine before anyone is booked. Check the drain line from the head for kinks, and the floor drain or air gap for backup. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can a clogged floor drain cause E25 on a True ice machine? Yes. If the head's drain water cannot get away, the sump drains slowly and the alarm is logged. ### Why does True care whether the drain is vented? An unvented line can hold an air lock that slows draining. True lists venting among its E25 checks. ### Does hard water make E25 more likely? Scale in the sump drain and valve can slow the purge. The water hardness setting also changes how long the purge runs. --- **[Read on the site: True E25: the sump did not drain during purge](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/true-e25/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
