On drain-pump models, a restriction in the drain lets the pump reservoir overfill, and a safety switch removes power from the machine to prevent flooding. Power returns by itself once the level falls; the machine then chimes, runs a self-test and shows OFF. Viking ice machine display · also shown as Power interruption, Drain pump high-limit What to do when Blank display (no icons) shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Drain and pump Water that should have left the machine is still inside it. A gravity drain clogged with slime or scale, a line run too flat to keep up during a harvest, a drain pump whose float sticks or whose motor has stopped, or an air gap blocked at the floor sink all back water into the bin or across the floor. Checking that the drain outlet in view runs clear is a fair first step; the pump and the line inside the cabinet are a visit. ### Usually leads to Ice machine drain and pump repair Gravity drains, air gaps, drain pumps and their lines, cleared or replaced when meltwater backs up into the bin or reaches the floor. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Viking A Viking ice machine call covers the panel-ready install, the drain and the water side before the cooling system is looked at. ### Source Viking FIUI5152D professional undercounter ice machine Install / Use & Care manual Viking FIUI5152D and FIUI5152DADA clear-ice machines with the built-in drain pump. ## Before you book, in this order. Check the floor around the machine first; if water is spreading toward an outlet, stay clear, switch the breaker off from a dry panel and close the water supply valve. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### My Viking ice machine went dark and came back on with a chime. What happened? That matches the drain pump safety: power was cut while the reservoir was too full, then restored with a startup chime and self-test. ### How do I test the drain on a Viking clear-ice machine? Viking's check is to turn the machine off and pour 3 quarts of water slowly into the bin; it should all drain without the display going dark. ### What causes the Viking drain pump safety to trip? A kinked or overlong drain line, a drain that is not open, or a blocked vent tube on the back of the machine. --- **[Read on the site: Viking blank display: the drain pump safety has cut power to the ice machine](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/viking-blank-display-drain-high-limit/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
