The control relies on the evaporator outlet sensor to know when freezing is working. With that sensor reading open or shorted, it stops icemaking and blinks these two lamps; Viking calls for checking the sensor and its attachment and restarting after the repair. Viking ice machine display · also shown as Evaporator temperature sensor error, EVA sensor What to do when ICE and NO WATER lamps blinking shows on the ice machine ### Kind of code Sensors and bin control A sensor is telling the board something that is not true: a bin control that reads full on an empty bin, or empty while ice spills over the top, a curtain switch stuck open, a temperature sensor out of range, or an eye on a dispenser that no longer sees the cup. Scale and slime on a probe or an ultrasonic sensor cause much of it. Clearing ice piled against the bin control is a safe first step; testing and replacing a sensor is a technician's. ### Usually leads to Ice machine bin control repair The thermostat bulb, paddle, curtain switch or electronic eye that senses a full bin, adjusted or replaced so the machine stops and restarts on time. ### Shows up as Ice Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing. ### Make Viking A Viking ice machine call covers the panel-ready install, the drain and the water side before the cooling system is looked at. ### Source Viking FNIU515D nugget ice machine Install / Use & Care manual Viking FNIU515D nugget ice machine. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Viking's own guidance for ICE and NO WATER lamps blinking on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Turn the machine off and on once to rule out a one-time glitch. 02 Do not remove panels to reach the sensor; the wiring is live while the machine is plugged in. 03 If the pattern returns, book a visit for a sensor test and replacement. ### Still there? Turn the machine off and on once to rule out a one-time glitch. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Does this Viking pattern mean the compressor is bad? No. It points at the evaporator sensor or its wiring, which reads as disconnected or shorted. ### Will my Viking make ice with the evaporator sensor error? No. Without a working sensor, the control stops icemaking until the sensor is repaired. ### How is the Viking Ice and No Water pattern different from Er15? Er15 blinks the No Water lamp alone. With the Ice lamp blinking too, it is the evaporator sensor. --- **[Read on the site: Viking Ice and No Water lamps blinking: the evaporator sensor reads open or shorted](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/viking-evaporator-sensor-error/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
