Look behind and under the machine for a kinked drain hose or standing water in the bin, and clear what you can reach safely. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### What should I check before booking a visit for the Whirlpool Service light? The drain hose and the water supply valve. A kinked hose or a closed valve is easy to fix yourself and can stop the machine. ### Does the Whirlpool Service light mean the compressor has failed? Whirlpool does not say what triggered it. A technician has to read the machine; the light only says service is needed. ### The Whirlpool Service light went away after a restart. Am I done? For now. If it returns in the following days, book a visit, since the cause is still present. --- **[Read on the site: Whirlpool Service light: the ice machine wants a technician](https://icemachinerepair.center/error-codes/whirlpool-service-light/)** **[Book a visit with IceMachineRepair.center](https://icemachinerepair.center/schedule/)**
