Kitchens rebuilt since the January 2025 fire are getting new undercounter ice machines on new water lines, while machines that survived in nearby homes and businesses were cleaned, sanitized and cleared of ash at the condenser before their ice was trusted again. ## What Pacific Palisades does to an ice machine. In January 2025 the Palisades Fire left 6,831 structures in ruins and 973 others damaged. Temperatures in the Palisades pass 90°F on only a dozen or so days a year, and September accounts for about five of them. Ahead of that windstorm, LADWP topped off all three of its 1-million-gallon tanks in the red-flag area to guard against a loss of water pressure at higher elevations. The Village, the neighborhood's small business district at Sunset Boulevard and Via de la Paz, is known for its many Italian restaurants. [All of Los Angeles](https://icemachinerepair.center/locations/los-angeles/) ### On the water A remote condenser on a seaside roof takes spray and wind straight off the ocean, and its fan motor, housing screws and electrical connections corrode together, so the rooftop unit is inspected whenever an ice machine near the coast falls behind. ### Ice for pool decks and patios A backyard party can empty a small bin in an hour, and owners who expect the machine to refill it at the same pace are often surprised that a full bin takes most of a day to rebuild, which is capacity, not a failure. ### Home bars with clear ice Kitchen designers often place the clear-ice machine far from any floor drain, which means a drain pump hidden in the cabinet, and the pump's check valve and vent line are the first stop when water collects under a spotless island. ## A visit in Pacific Palisades.
