Dumbo's cobblestone streets have also drawn scrutiny: a 2017 report found they did not meet the Americans with Disabilities Act and needed to be repaired or removed. ## What DUMBO does to an ice machine. Public housing is part of Dumbo too, in the ten-tower Farragut Houses managed by the city's housing authority. About 17 percent of New York City, some 51 square miles, flooded during Hurricane Sandy, beyond the 100-year flood that FEMA had predicted. The earliest 90°F day on record at Central Park came on April 7, 2010, when the thermometer reached 92°F. [All of New York Metro](https://icemachinerepair.center/locations/new-york/) ### Tower living A tower's lobby bar, rooftop lounge and residents' club often share modular ice machines whose condensers sit on the roof, and a long remote line that loses its charge or its fan shows up downstairs as a head that freezes slowly and a bin that never fills. ### Older housing stock Old commercial buildings turned into bars and restaurants often have a single aging supply serving the whole back of house, and an ice machine on it fills its trough short whenever the dish area draws water, which shows as small or partial sheets of cubes. ### On the water Salt air eats the fins of an air-cooled condenser on a waterfront bar's or a beach club's ice machine, and once the coil flakes the machine runs hot and makes less ice every summer, so coastal visits start at the condenser and its fan. ## A visit in DUMBO.
