On several summer nights, Great Neck's downtown closes streets for Promenade Nights, when local restaurants bring their seating outdoors for dining and live music. ## What Great Neck does to an ice machine. North Shore University Hospital stands on Community Drive, across from the Lakeville AME Zion Church cemetery. About 400,000 Long Island customers went dark when Isaias swept through in August 2020, and some had to wait several days to get power back. Before Hurricane Sandy, Nassau County urged residents of North Shore areas north of Route 25A that sit 15 feet or less above sea level to evacuate. [All of New York Metro](https://icemachinerepair.center/locations/new-york/) ### Mixed housing On a block where an old corner restaurant faces a new cafe, the older one may still run a modular head from decades back whose parts are getting scarce, while the new one runs an R-290 machine full of sensors, and each takes a different kind of repair. ### Home bars with clear ice Kitchen designers often place the clear-ice machine far from any floor drain, which means a drain pump hidden in the cabinet, and the pump's check valve and vent line are the first stop when water collects under a spotless island. ### On the water Salt air eats the fins of an air-cooled condenser on a waterfront bar's or a beach club's ice machine, and once the coil flakes the machine runs hot and makes less ice every summer, so coastal visits start at the condenser and its fan. ## A visit in Great Neck.
