Lincoln Center, which opened in the 1960s, and the Lincoln Towers apartment complex were products of urban renewal at the south end of the West Side. ## What Upper West Side does to an ice machine. A cable that burned out inside a transformer on West End Avenue on July 13, 2019 darkened blocks from the 40s up to 72nd Street for roughly three hours, and Con Edison put the count near 73,000 customers. Central Park's normal July high is 84.9°F, based on the 1991 to 2020 averages. A city sanitary inspection scoring 0 to 13 points earns a restaurant an A, and no fines are issued for violations found in an inspection that ends in an A. [All of New York Metro](https://icemachinerepair.center/locations/new-york/) ### Tower living Many newer ice machines charged with R-290 sit in small tower pantries and lounges, and a hiss or a gas smell there means no switches and no flame: open the door, leave the room and call 911 if the smell is strong. ### Small cafes and back bars Behind a narrow bar the undercounter ice machine is boxed in by coolers and a sink, and an air-cooled unit forced to breathe its own warm exhaust runs long cycles and drops thin cubes, so the clearance at its front grille is checked before the sealed system. ### Older housing stock Older wiring may put an ice machine's compressor on a circuit shared with other bar equipment, and a breaker that trips each time the harvest starts is left off and reported rather than reset again and again; at a burning smell, switch the breaker off. ## A visit in Upper West Side.
