Everyone out, no switches. No gas: close the water, breaker off at a dry panel On a wet floor the order is: power, then water, then the mop. Cut the circuit from a dry panel, close the supply valve and keep staff out of the puddle. Melt from a bin door left open can wait for an ordinary booking once the door is shut; a leak that comes back with the supply open, or anything from the drain or the pump, needs a visit this week. ## What it usually means. An ice machine is plumbed at both ends. Water comes in through a supply line, a filter cartridge and an inlet valve, fills a sump, is pumped over the evaporator by the distribution tube, and whatever does not freeze leaves by gravity or through a small drain pump, along with the meltwater from the bin. Every one of those joints can drip, and a bin sheds melt all day, so a floor under a machine that is never quite dry is common in a busy bar. The worrying leaks are the ones that grow: a drain line that has slipped off its fitting, a pump that stopped lifting, a cracked filter head, a water curtain knocked out of place so water sprays past the sump, or a floor drain that backs up every time the bin empties. Water on a tiled floor is a slip risk for staff carrying glassware; water that reaches a wall outlet, an extension lead or the machine's own cord is an electrical danger. Stay out of the wet area, switch the circuit off only from a dry panel, and close the supply valve on the water line so the machine stops refilling.
