What Replace Filter
actually means.
The GSWF filter behind the lower access door is tracked by a timer. At about 5 months the light comes on as an ordering reminder, and at about 6 months it flashes to say the cartridge should be changed; heavy use brings both earlier. Pressing Filter Reset after the change restarts the timer.

The water side came up short: the trough did not fill in the time allowed, the float or level probe never saw water, or water kept flowing when the inlet valve should have closed. A supply valve left partly shut, a clogged filter cartridge, low building pressure or a sticking inlet valve are the usual causes. Opening the valve fully and fitting a fresh filter clears the simple cases; a valve that hums without passing water is a visit.

Turn the machine off and make sure the Making Ice light is out.
Open the lower access door, turn the old cartridge about a quarter turn left, pull it out and fit the new GSWF cartridge.
Press Filter Reset so the light goes out.
If the light does not reset, or the lights start alternating afterwards, book a visit.
