What 5 beeps
actually means.

A DCM makes cubelet ice continuously from water in its reservoir, and the upper float switch calls for more water as the level drops. If the float does not call for water within 30 minutes, the board concludes that no ice is being made and shuts down with five beeps. Hoshizaki lists a float stuck up, an inlet valve leaking by, a bad expansion valve, a liquid line valve not opening, low charge, a headmaster not bypassing, or a weak compressor.

What to do when 5 beeps shows on the ice machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Hoshizaki's own guidance for 5 beeps on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Count the beeps: five, every five seconds, is this alarm.

02

Switch the unit off and on once, which is the manual reset Hoshizaki gives.

03

If five beeps return, book a visit.

What not to do

Five beeps are not a low-water alarm; that is one beep. The KM cuber table does not use five beeps.

Where 5 beeps usually leads

Ice machine water valve and filter repair.

Inlet valve, sump float or level probe, supply line and filter head · low to moderate.

Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. DCM cubelet icemaker/dispensers (DCM-300, 500, 751, 752) repeat the beeps every five seconds and also light an orange ALARM LED; their beep list differs from the KM list.

Questions
about 5 beeps.

Can I clear 5 beeps myself?
Count the beeps: five, every five seconds, is this alarm. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why would a Hoshizaki dispenser stop using water?
If no ice is being made, no water is drawn. A float stuck up or a cooling problem both lead there.
Can I reset 5 beeps on a Hoshizaki dispenser myself?
Hoshizaki's reset is turning power off and on. If the alarm returns, the cause needs a visit.
Is 5 beeps the same as the freeze timer on a Hoshizaki cuber?
They are related ideas, but on a KM cuber the freeze timer alarm is three beeps.

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
