What E1
actually means.

A Blue Air modular head gives each freeze up to 60 minutes. The first time it runs over, the machine moves on to harvest anyway; if the next freeze also runs over, it stops and shows E1. Blue Air's causes run from a refrigerant leak or blocked line and a compressor or fan motor that is not running, to air or water outside 45 to 100 F and 45 to 90 F, or voltage out of range.

What to do when E1 shows on the ice machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Blue Air's own guidance for E1 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check that the condenser fan area is clear and the air filter is clean.

02

Make sure the room is between 45 and 100 F and nothing hot is blowing at the machine.

03

Restart the machine once and watch whether the fan and compressor come on.

04

If E1 returns, book a visit; a leak, compressor or voltage problem needs a technician.

What not to do

E1 on a BLMI head is not the same as E01 on the BLDN-280A dispenser, which uses a 30-minute limit. It is also not E3, which is an evaporator that got too warm during freezing.

Where E1 usually leads

Ice machine harvest repair.

Thickness probe, curtain switch, harvest assist and hot gas valve · low to moderate.

In Blue Air's own words

if time goes over 60 minutes, machine stops and shows error code (E1) on the control panel with a beep sound.

Questions
about E1.

Can I clear E1 myself?
Check that the condenser fan area is clear and the air filter is clean. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Blue Air ice machine beep and show E1?
Two freeze cycles in a row took longer than 60 minutes, so the head stopped. Heat, poor airflow, low voltage or a cooling system problem can all slow freezing.
Can a hot room cause E1 on a Blue Air BLMI?
Yes. Blue Air rates the head for 45 to 100 F air and 45 to 90 F water, and hotter conditions stretch the freeze past the limit.
Does E1 on a Blue Air mean a refrigerant leak?
It can, but Blue Air lists it alongside a stopped fan, a compressor that is not running and bad voltage. A technician checks the simple causes before the sealed system.

Still showing E1?

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
