What E2
actually means.

During harvest, hot gas warms the evaporator until the cubes drop. If the ice is too thick, the evaporator is scaled, the room is cold or the harvest valve does not open fully, the drop takes too long and the board stops with E2. On both control generations, E2 means a long harvest.

What to do when E2 shows on the ice machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Atosa's own guidance for E2 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check whether a slab of ice is still stuck on the evaporator.

02

If the machine has not been cleaned recently, schedule a cleaning with an approved ice machine cleaner.

03

Make sure the room is not unusually cold.

04

If E2 returns after cleaning, book a visit to check the ice thickness setting and the harvest valve.

What not to do

E2 does not mean the machine is out of water; that is E5. It also does not mean the bin is full, which shows FUL.

Questions
about E2.

Can I clear E2 myself?
Check whether a slab of ice is still stuck on the evaporator. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can thick ice cause E2 on an Atosa?
Yes. Atosa's first step for E2 is to check whether the ice is too thick, because a heavy slab takes longer to release.
Does scale cause E2 on an Atosa ice machine?
It can. Scale on the evaporator holds the ice, and the older manual lists a dirty evaporator as a cause of long harvest.
My Atosa in a cold room shows E2. Is that related?
Yes. A low room temperature slows the harvest, and Atosa lists it among the causes.

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
