What E2
actually means.

Harvest on a BLMI head is allowed 25 minutes. After one overrun the machine goes back to freezing; after a second, it stops and beeps with E2. Blue Air names a hot gas valve that does not open, an evaporator temperature sensing problem, a stopped compressor, a leak, a room or water that is too cold, and voltage.

What to do when E2 shows on the ice machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Blue Air's own guidance for E2 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Look for a sheet of ice still stuck on the evaporator.

02

Check that the room is not below 45 F.

03

Clean and sanitize the machine if it is overdue; scale makes ice hold on.

04

If E2 returns, book a visit to test the hot gas valve and evaporator sensor.

What not to do

E2 is not a water shortage; that is E5. It also does not mean the bin is full, which the display shows as Full.

Ice machine harvest repair.

Thickness probe, curtain switch, harvest assist and hot gas valve · low to moderate.

In Blue Air's own words

During the second harvesting cycle, if time goes over 25 minutes, error code (E2) is shown on the contro panel with a beep sound.

Questions
about E2.

Can I clear E2 myself?
Look for a sheet of ice still stuck on the evaporator. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What does E2 mean on a Blue Air modular ice machine?
Two harvests in a row took more than 25 minutes. The ice did not release quickly enough, so the head stopped.
Can a cold room cause E2 on my Blue Air?
Yes. Blue Air lists air or water that is too cold as a cause, because the evaporator warms up more slowly.
Is E2 on a Blue Air the hot gas valve?
Often, but not always. An evaporator temperature sensor that misreads can end harvest at the wrong time, so both are tested.

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
