What 2 beeps
actually means.

A KM harvest normally ends when the evaporator thermistor senses that the plate has warmed and the ice has released. If harvest lasts more than 20 minutes two cycles running, the board locks out with two beeps. Hoshizaki's list: an open thermistor, a hot gas valve that does not open, an expansion or liquid line valve leaking by, low charge, a weak compressor, or a water regulating valve leaking by.

What to do when 2 beeps shows on the ice machine

Kind of codeHarvest and freeze cycle

A freeze ran longer than the board allows, or a harvest started and the ice never fell. Scale on the evaporator holds the sheet to the plate, a thickness probe crusted with minerals never signals, a hot gas valve that does not open leaves the plate cold, a harvest assist that does not push, or a water curtain that swings without tripping its switch all end in this family. A cleaning cycle run by the manual often clears it; a valve or a probe is a technician's job.

Shows up asIce Machine Error Code or Flashing Light: What It Is Telling You

An ice machine error code may show as a number on a small display, a pattern of blinking lights on the control board, a colored light on the front, or a machine that stops with one indicator flashing.

MakeHoshizaki

On a Hoshizaki ice machine, the technician notes every alarm signal and checks the water and condenser before pricing any part.

KM crescent cubers, both self-contained (KM-231, KM-301) and modular (KM-350 to KM-660), repeat the beep pattern from the control board inside the unit. DCM cubelet icemaker/dispensers (DCM-300, 500, 751, 752) repeat the beeps every five seconds and also light an orange ALARM LED; their beep list differs from the KM list.

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Hoshizaki's own guidance for 2 beeps on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Count the beeps: two in a row means this alarm on a KM.

02

Check that the room is not unusually cold and that nothing blocks the air around the unit.

03

Book a visit; the causes are on the cooling side and the reset is on the board.

It usually turns into ice machine harvest repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

On a DCM cubelet dispenser, two beeps mean the control switch was left in DRAIN too long. On a KM it is not a water shortage; the fill is checked separately.

Questions
about 2 beeps.

Can I clear 2 beeps myself?
Count the beeps: two in a row means this alarm on a KM. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Hoshizaki beep twice and stop with ice stuck on the plate?
The harvest ran past its 20-minute backup timer twice. The ice not releasing points to the hot gas side or the thermistor.
Does descaling fix the 2-beep alarm on a Hoshizaki?
Scale is not on Hoshizaki's list for this alarm, which points to thermistor and cooling-side parts. Cleaning is still worth keeping current.
On my Hoshizaki dispenser, two beeps stopped after I moved a switch. Why?
On DCM dispensers two beeps mean the control switch sat in DRAIN too long; moving it back to ICE clears it.

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
