Atosa FUL: the ice machine stopped because the bin is full

What FUL
actually means.

On Atosa's display models, ice piling up in the bin keeps the water curtain from closing against its magnetic door switch, and the machine stops with FUL. As ice is used and the curtain swings back, production resumes. A curtain that is out of place gives the same reading with a bin that is not full.

What to do when FUL shows on the ice machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Atosa's own guidance for FUL on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Look in the bin; if it is full, this is normal operation.

02

If there is room, check that the water curtain hangs in its slot and swings freely.

03

Take out some ice if the pile is pressing on the curtain.

04

If FUL stays with a low bin and a free curtain, book a visit to check the door switch.

Cleared?

The light or code is gone, and the machine fills, freezes and drops a full batch of cubes into the bin with no new part. If it returns within a week, or the clean light comes back straight after a cleaning cycle, mention that in the booking.

What not to do

FUL is not an error and does not mean anything has failed. If the switch itself is disconnected, the display shows E8 instead.

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Nothing is broken; the control is reporting a state someone chose or a routine it runs: a clean or sanitize reminder counting the hours since the last cycle, a delay of a few minutes after power returns before the pump and compressor start, a bin-full light while the bin control is satisfied, or a standby or off mode someone chose at the keypad. No part is needed; finishing the cycle the light asks for, waiting out the delay or the key sequence from the manual ends it.

Questions
about FUL.

Can I clear FUL myself?
Look in the bin; if it is full, this is normal operation.
My Atosa shows FUL but the bin is only half full. Why?
The water curtain is not closing against its magnetic switch. It may be hanging crooked after cleaning or held by a cube, so reseat it and FUL should clear.
Do I need to reset my Atosa after FUL?
No. Once there is room and the curtain closes, ice making picks up again by itself.
What is the difference between FUL and E8 on an Atosa?
FUL is the normal full-bin stop. E8 means the board has lost the door switch signal altogether, which needs the switch checked.

Back to your everyday

Still showing FUL?

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
