What E1
actually means.

The board expects the condenser sensor to warm up while the machine makes ice. If the sensor is unplugged or its reading does not move, the board stops with E1. Atosa lists the sensor connection first and the cooling system second, because a system that is not running also leaves the reading flat.

What to do when E1 shows on the ice machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Atosa's own guidance for E1 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Switch the machine off and back on once and note whether E1 returns.

02

Make sure the condenser fan area is clear and the machine is getting air.

03

Book a visit; the probe connection sits behind panels and the cooling system check needs a technician.

It usually turns into ice machine bin control repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

On the display models E1 is not a long freeze cycle, which is what the older Y-series LED board used the label E1 for. It is also not E4, which is a condenser that is too hot rather than a sensor that is silent.

What you may
notice with it.

The ice machine problems E1 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the ice machine before anyone is booked.

Questions
about E1.

Can I clear E1 myself?
Switch the machine off and back on once and note whether E1 returns. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Is E1 on my new Atosa the same as E1 in an older Atosa manual?
No. The display models use E1 for the condenser temperature sensor, while the older LED board used E1 for a freeze cycle that ran too long. Go by the manual for your model series.
Can a dirty condenser cause E1 on an Atosa?
A dirty condenser is listed under E4, high condenser temperature. E1 is about the sensor not reporting a change, though a cooling system that is not running can cause it.
Will my Atosa run with E1 on the display?
No, it stops making ice until the sensor reading returns. Book a visit so the probe and the cooling system can be checked.

Still showing E1?

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
