What E4
actually means.

The condenser has to shed the heat taken from the water. When air cannot reach it, the filter in front of it is clogged, or the room is hot, its temperature climbs and the board reports E4. Atosa's steps are the location, then the condenser itself.

What to do when E4 shows on the ice machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Atosa's own guidance for E4 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Clear space around the machine so hot air can leave and cool air can enter.

02

Pull out the removable condenser air filter and wash it; Atosa asks for this monthly.

03

Check that nothing like an oven or fryer is blowing heat at the intake.

04

If E4 comes back with a clean filter and good airflow, book a visit to check the condenser and fan.

Still there?

It usually turns into ice machine condenser and fan repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

On the display models E4 is not high pressure, which is E6, and not a water problem. The older Y-series manual used E4 for other protections, so those notes do not apply.

Questions
about E4.

Can I clear E4 myself?
Clear space around the machine so hot air can leave and cool air can enter. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
How do I clear E4 on my Atosa ice machine?
Fix the airflow: wash the condenser air filter, give the machine room to breathe and keep heat sources away. If the condenser itself is dirty, it needs cleaning.
Where is the air filter on an Atosa ice machine?
It sits in front of the condenser and is removable for washing; Atosa's manual shows its location for each series.
Is E4 on an Atosa the same as high pressure?
No. On the display models high pressure has its own code, E6. The two often share causes, so clean airflow helps both.

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
