What E24
actually means.

Each cycle, a True head fills its sump before freezing. E24 means that fill stalled for half an hour, and True's list of causes is short: no water, a clogged incoming water filter or an inlet valve that is not opening.

What to do when E24 shows on the ice machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from True Residential's own guidance for E24 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Make sure the water supply valve to the head is fully open.

02

Check the water filter cartridge and replace it if it is past its capacity or the outlet pressure is low.

03

If water is on and the filter is new, book a visit to test the inlet valve.

It usually turns into ice machine water valve and filter repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E24 is the half-hour timeout; a fill that misses its first three minutes shows as E29, shown on screen as H₂O. It is not a drain problem; a sump that will not empty is E25.

What you may
notice with it.

The ice machine problems E24 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the ice machine before anyone is booked.

Questions
about E24.

Can I clear E24 myself?
Make sure the water supply valve to the head is fully open. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
How do I know when the water filter on my True is due?
The control keeps a water filter usage counter in the menu, and True's schedule says to change the filter when its outlet pressure drops below 20 psig.
Why did E24 appear after plumbing work nearby?
A supply valve left partly closed or air and debris in the line can slow the fill. Opening the valve fully and flushing the line often clears it.
Does E24 mean the inlet valve is broken?
Only after the water supply and filter have been ruled out. The valve coil and its screen are tested on the visit.

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
