What E29
actually means.

At the start of a cycle, True expects the sump to reach its fill setting within three minutes. When it does not, the screen shows H₂O and the alarm is logged as E29; the machine may sit off with that message until water arrives.

What to do when E29 shows on the ice machine

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from True Residential's own guidance for E29 on its ice machines. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Open the water supply valve fully and check for a kinked supply hose.

02

Check the water filter and replace it if it is restricted.

03

Restart ice making; if H₂O returns with good water pressure, book a visit to test the inlet valve and the drain valve.

Still there?

It usually turns into ice machine water valve and filter repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

H₂O is the short three-minute check, while E24 is the full half-hour fill timeout. A drain valve stuck open can also cause it, because the water leaves as fast as it enters.

Questions
about E29.

Can I clear E29 myself?
Open the water supply valve fully and check for a kinked supply hose. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my True ice machine show H2O?
It is the slow-fill alarm, E29. The sump did not fill in the first three minutes, usually because of low supply pressure, a clogged filter or a valve problem.
Can a leaking drain valve cause H2O on a True?
Yes. True lists the drain valve among the checks, because water draining away keeps the sump from reaching its level.
Do I need to reset the True after fixing the water?
Restart ice making from the touchscreen once water is restored. If H₂O comes back, the valves need testing.

A booking with a code goes further when it carries the light or code copied as it appeared, the model and serial off the data plate, and a word on whether cubes still fall into the bin. With those three in hand, our office can match the probable part to your machine the same afternoon.
