What is particular
to Viking.

We service the FIUI5152D, FIUI5152DADA and VBFIC1152D clear-ice machines, the FNIU515D nugget machine and the FCIU515D craft-ice machine, plus older 5 Series FGIM5151 clear-ice and FGNI515 nugget units. Viking does not list a modular head or a dispenser.

Three lamps on the nugget machine

The FNIU515D has only Ice, No Water and Drain lamps, and Viking's table maps each lit or blinking combination to a numbered condition such as Er15 for no water or Er16 for a slow drain. Writing down which lamps blink, and whether they blink or stay lit, is most of the diagnosis.

The drain pump can cut all power

On the clear-ice models, a restricted drain lets the pump reservoir overfill, and the safety cuts power until the water is gone. A blank display on a Viking is therefore often a drain problem, not a dead board.

Viking's own cleaner only

The nugget manual allows only Viking Ice Machine Cleaner and warns that another cleaner can damage the machine, and the condenser is cleaned with a brush or vacuum, never a chemical. We carry out the cleaning cycle with those limits.

Lights that clean the cabinet

The nugget model turns on an interior UV light when the door closes, and the FIUI5152D carries BrightShield antimicrobial lighting. A light that stays off is worth reporting, because it is part of how the bin is kept clean between cleanings.

Parts

Sensors, the water level sensor, the drain valve and the drain pump are ordered to the exact model, because the nugget and clear-ice machines use different controls and different ways of making ice. The nugget model runs on R600a, so its sealed-system parts are handled with flammable-refrigerant practice.

Repair or replace

Sensor, valve, drain pump and board repairs are usually sensible on a current Viking, since the panel-ready door is custom to the kitchen. On an older 5 Series unit with a sealed-system failure, parts availability should be checked before a repair is booked.

Why is my Viking ice machine display completely blank?
On Viking clear-ice models with a drain pump, a restricted drain can trigger a high-limit safety that removes power until the water drains. Check the drain line and vent for kinks; if the display stays dark with a clear drain, book a visit.
How cold can the room be for a Viking ice machine?
The FIUI5152D manual gives 55°F as the minimum room temperature. Below that, the bin sensor can read the room instead of the ice and stop the machine early.
What does Er15 mean on my Viking nugget ice machine?
Er15 is the water supply condition: the water level sensor found no water for 2 minutes, and the No Water lamp blinks. Check the shutoff valve and the supply line before anything else.
How often does a Viking ice machine need cleaning?
Viking recommends every six months. The nugget machine signals it by flickering all three lamps in turn, and the clear-ice display alternates CL with ICE.
